Program in Creative DesignProgram in Creative Design

Program in Creative Design

We aim to develop designers who can read the trends of the times and create imaginative and original ideas. Students learn how to change everything they see (including seasonal colors, nature, and the structure of buildings) and everything they feel (such as anger and joy) into energy or images for their fashion work. The program is designed to teach students how to convert abstract ideas into tangible forms.

Program in Functional Design

Program in Functional Design

The chief aim of this program is to develop a new type of designer who can create apparel that is comfortable and functional and also demonstrates taste based on ergonomics and aestho-physiology. By considering environmental friendliness and staying abreast of ever-evolving new materials, students propose functional beauty for the new era as they seek to deliver comfort that is gentle on the body. This program aims to prepare students for the qualifying examination for textile advisors.

Program in Advanced TechniquesProgram in Advanced Techniques

Program in Advanced Techniques

Students engage in a theoretical study of the relationship between the physical body and the structure of clothing and also master high-quality fashion processing techniques focused on custom tailoring and small-lot, high-quality pret-a-porter which carry on the tradition of haute couture. By learning the designs used in historical costumes, students expand the range of clothing they can make to include the reproduction of era costumes and the creation of costumes for stage and film.

Program in Industrial Techniques

Program in Industrial Techniques

Students aim to become specialists in patternmaking, production management, stitching management, and other areas of the apparel industry. Students gain practical skills and high-level specialized knowledge regarding pattern design, processing techniques, and production management based on both mass-production theory and drawing theory. There are also classes to prepare students for the patternmaking exam, a qualification which is in great demand in the industry.

Program in Brand Planning

Program in Brand Planning

This program is for women who want to create their own brand and become total fashion producers in the future. Students aim to develop their own original brand from brand planning to fashion design, including the creation of original textiles. This comprehensive program also covers store management and advertising.

Program in Textile Planning

Program in Textile Planning

Fabric and clothing are intimately related, and designers cannot create apparel without a full understanding of the materials used as well as their care and handling. Students gain the expertise to produce designs based on knowledge of the special characteristics of thread, weave, dyeing, and patterns. This program aims to prepare students to take the qualifying examination to become textile advisors, a credential which is useful for work in quality control, production, and marketing at apparel makers.
