Students enter their chosen program from the third year.

We Provide Three Programs for Different Career Paths in Fashion Culture.

In the first two years, students acquire both comprehensive knowledge and skills related to fashion as well as the English skills necessary to work in the international arena. From the third year, students enter one of the departmentfs three programs where they undertake practical studies in their chosen specialty. The department trains students who have their sights set on the international fashion stage with a practical curriculum that only Bunka can deliver. We offer students such opportunities as attending lectures by famous designers, participating in overseas training, planning and staging fashion shows in Japan and overseas, and participating in a study abroad program at the New York Fashion Institute of Technology (internal restrictions apply). Our graduates are successful on the international stage.

Program in Fashion Styling and Fashion Coordination

Program in Fashion Styling and Fashion Coordination

Fashion stylists build fashion images for celebrities and perform fashion styling for models by coordinating fashion based on the media to be used, the role to be played, and the season of the year. Fashion coordinators are responsible for creating unified images by coordinating clothing and accessories. In this program, students learn to analyze the latest trends and develop the techniques and sensibilities to coordinate fashion by making the most of product features and the elements of time, place, and occasion.

Program in Fashion Event Production and Fashion Journalism

Program in Fashion Event Production and Fashion Journalism

Fashion event producers decide product strategies and have overall responsibility for marketing and distribution. Fashion journalists are in charge of fashion magazines or the fashion section of womenfs magazines and report the seasonfs trends to readers. This program imparts information analysis and expression skills and trains students to be fashion event producers and fashion journalists in Japan and overseas.

Program in Stage and Film Costume Design

This program develops creative people who design and produce costumes that make the most of the unique effects of the stage and visual media and are reflect a full understanding of the storyline. The curriculum gives students a broad foundation in fashion and specialized knowledge of the design and production of stage and film costumes. Students develop design skills, refine their originality and creativity, and learn high-level production techniques.
