Students enter their chosen program from the second year.
Students Gain the International Perspective and Practical Language Skills Needed to Excel in the International Community.
Students gain practical linguistic abilities in the first year and also engage in an in-depth study of the area of specialty of their selected program. The department offers students the chance to experience firsthand the actual lifestyle, culture, and language of their chosen region via such language application opportunities as classes led by native speakers, student exchange programs, overseas culture and language training, and overseas stays. Moreover, internships give students an opportunity to discover how they can apply the skills they have acquired in the classroom and to enhance their international sensibilities and general knowledge so that they can excel in the working world.
Program in International Tourism
In this program, students acquire international awareness and specialized knowledge regarding travel and tourism so that they can serve effectively in society as bridges fostering international understanding and friendship. Focusing on English conversation, the program places emphasis on the practical business skills necessary to be active on the front lines of the travel and hospitality industries. This program also includes courses to prepare students for the state examination to obtain qualifications as a certified domestic or international travel service supervisor.
Program in World Cultures
The keywords for this program are internationalization, multicultural literacy, identity creation, Japanfs contribution, and womenfs perspectives. Students research and compare the cultures of different regions of the world from a wide range of angles, such as politics, economics, history, literature, and art, and gain the perspectives and general knowledge needed to assess the various issues facing the international community based on an understanding of the heart of the issues and then to comment and take action on them.
