Faculty of Fashion Science

The Faculty of Fashion Science has been producing many graduates for the fashion industry. The Faculty has two departments, one is creation field focused on "creating" fashion, and the other is sociology field focused on "thinking" about fashion. In the Department of Fashion Technology, students aim to express their own unique fashion in a variety of specialized fields. In the Department of Fashion Sociology, students analyze and research fashion from the perspectives of sociology, psychology, economics, and history, etc.

Faculty of Art and Design

The Faculty of Art and Design consists of two departments: the Department of Art and Design and the Department of Architecture and Interior. They share the common stance of placing value on “enriching daily life.” Although future paths differ, the aim is to become creators who are rooted in daily life as they come up with ideas from realizing “If we did it this way” and “If we had something like this,” regardless of the field. Another characteristic is the large amount of group work and presentations, etc., such as classes conducted in collaboration with many companies and efforts toward revitalization of the community, taking advantage of being located in the urban center. Many of our graduates are utilizing abilities needed by society which they acquired through these activities, as they work in the industries that are their specialties.

Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences / Faculty of Intercultural Studies
*The name of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciendes will be changed to the Faculty of Intercultural Studies starting with AY2020 admissions.

The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences consists of the Department of Intercultural Studies and Tourism, the Department of International Fashion and Culture Studies, and the Department of Applied Health Psychology. The Faculty emphasizes enabling students to get a deep sense of growth themselves through four years of learning. We believe that it is important for students to not only gain an intellectual understanding of theory, but to also experience the concepts being taught, including live demonstrations in the Hospitality Training Room and practical training at graduation events, volunteer activities, etc. Every department has a large number of hands-on courses. Students find the paths they want to take through a variety of experiences, and achieve it under their own power. They utilize a curriculum that provides students with that type of ability of self-fulfillment in order to develop students who are able to create the future.
